The support and traction were excellent on the technical course with no problems climbing or in the flats. The problem was with steep downhills. The high uppers on the outside above the heel contacts my ankle on steep downhills. After descending a 1000 vertical feet at speed I had worn through my skin (beyond blisters) on both outside ankles. It happened suddenly and only on a steep downhill. I will use these as a training shoe out of the mountains and on gentler terrain.
