La Sportiva Crosslite Trail Running Shoe - Men's Black, 42.0

Product Description

La Sportiva’s Crosslite trail running shoe is suited for medium to long distance runners who prefer a minimalist, lightweight shoe. The Crosslite was constructed with an external scree guard that helps join the foot to the upper midsole thereby eliminating any movement or dissonance. But this lightweight shoe still has cushion. Perfect for trails, the Crosslite has wide-spaced tacky rubber lugs on the sole to disperse impact and provide great traction. The Crosslite was a Runner's World Best Buy in 2008 and is a brilliant shoe for runners who’d rather wear a straightforward, technically broken-down trail-running shoe. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the Trail, June 3, 2009

I have used Lasportiva for a while including their fireblade and found this is the better of the two. This shoe is highly aggressive and light weight, it has good arch support for my foot and with the cover over the laces it feels like your foot is cupped during the run, I noticed there is very little foot motion inside the shoe. I carried these on an 18 miler and they did a great job I was running up and down very steep hills with no sliding or worring about falling as opposed to my partner who was wearing newbalace trail runners. If you want to change laces better go with another shoe b/c these were not desighned for that, and by no means are these a cross shoe where you can run on pavement I ran a small piece on asphault and I could feel every little bump in the road and feel it in my calfs. I would also imagain the tread would wear down extramly fast. If your looking for a great trail shoe that fits to size you found it good luck out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, May 19, 2010
I've had these shoes for about 3 months now and can say that I am extremely happy with them. They're quite possibly the most comfortable running shoes I have ever owned, and light to boot.

That being said, they're pretty neutral and almost minimal. As such, you need to be sure you're up to the task of running with a more fore-to-mid strike than with most traditional running shoes.

I decided to use these shoes as my switch from motion control New Balance's with custom insoles to something more neutral/minimal.

It's been a gradual transition, but I'm now at a point where I can comfortably run 10-15 miles at a time painlessly on trails or pavement in these shoes and I'll never go back to stability or motion control again.

If you decide to buy these, however, don't expect to be able to heel strike without pain. If you're light you might get away with it on trails, but not on pavement. These shoes are just not made for that!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent shoe, June 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
The first time I tried them on, I was surprised, not only on how well they fit, but how comfortable they were. I ran several even and uneven trails and I felt a definite difference. These simply excelled, i felt I gripped the trail very well and my propulsion was much improved over all other shoes i've tried before these. I really recommend a pair.
